Unit 1: Make Small Talk
Make Small Talk Tag Questions: is a short question added at the end of a sentence. It's used to turn a statement into a question, often to seek confirmation or agreement. Structure: is usually a statement + a tag. The tag is formed with an auxiliary verb from the statement + a pronoun. If the statement is positive, the tag is usually negative, and vice versa. Examples: - You're coming to the party, aren't you? - It's a beautiful day, isn't it? - She likes pizza, doesn't she? - They haven't seen the movie yet, have they? Past Perfect: is used to describe an action that was completed before another past action or time. Structure: is formed with the auxiliary verb "had" + the past participle of the main verb. Examples: - I had already eaten breakfast when she called. - They had finished the project before the deadline. - She realized she had lost her keys when she arrived home. - He had never visited Paris before last summer.
